![]() I don't not know what software they use, but I am 90% sure it is not Sony applications. I have personally talked with a few that used the free upgrade to Windows 10. That is not good for anyone using it, especially in a professional environment. I know, most people say it works for them, but I see in all of the forums many have problems. My primary concern is Sony software having problems. I know that some day I will have to upgrade to Windows 10. I have not worked with Windows 8 or 8.1 so I can't really say much about it except I don't like the idea of a "Box" operating. Then the public gave their opinions and Microsoft incorporated many of the suggestions and released Windows 7. They let the public pay for it and test it. I think Microsoft released Windows Vista as a Beta for Windows 7. I think either Windows Vista or Windows Millennium Edition (ME) were the worst. My wife bought an HP desktop in August 2007 with Windows Vista Home Premium. I have had Windows 7 Pro 64-bit since March 2013 and have not had any problems (cross my fingers). I think XP was one of the best operating systems Microsoft released until Windows 7. I know Windows XP has a 64-bit version, but I understand only a small percentage of XP are installed with it. The screen sure looks pretty though.Ĭhienworks, Thank you for your reply. Its new 64-bit architecture harnesses all. NEW: 64-bit version SOUND FORGE Pro 12 can now handle the most demanding professional audio processing tasks with ease. It's not just that things were radically different than Win7, it's that almost every administration task required 2 to 3 times as many steps, and those steps were usually arcane and unobvious. Now SOUND FORGE Pro 12 adds a 64-bit engine, VST3 support and many more hi-end audio plug-ins meaning the software remains the number one choice for audio professionals the world over. ![]() ![]() I was tearing my hair out trying to find out how to set the computers up for my users. I did my first Win8 installation roll out yesterday. It may not be artistic and modern, but it is exquisitely functional! Every application i've seen with a 'fancier' interface is much harder to learn and use, and that includes Windows 8 itself. I whole-heartedly agree with you about retaining the interface though. Since i'm still on XP i'm stuck with version 10. Sound Forge Pro 11 requires Vista/Win7 or higher. Once you have a CPU the OS must be chosen to match it. Ī lot of early Windows 7 installs were 32 bit, and there is also a 64 bit version of XP. Essentially correct, just a couple little nits. ![]()
